In March of 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act was signed into law. This was the first pandemic-related stimulus-response bill passed since the CARES Act in March 2020 at the start of the pandemic. The ARP provided $350 billion in direct federal funding to state, local, and tribal governments to help navigate the impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak.
As we slowly begin to return to normal, many of these programs have been suspended or wound down. While the publicized deadline for ARP passed on December, 31st, 2021, governments and tribal nations that are eligible and qualify can still apply for and receive funding!
The process is simple. To receive funding, you must apply. It’s a relatively simple process and you can find the forms here.
Upgrade Your Technology With ARP
ARP funding offers state, local, and tribal governments a great opportunity to upgrade or add new technology. This helps employees to do their jobs more efficiently and faster, and it will also increase security, improve communications and engagement with residents.
Here are some of the technologies DSI offers that qualify for funding through ARP:
- VoIP With cloud-based VoIP, your team doesn’t need to be physically connected to the same network of phone lines. They can take their phone number and features home with a softphone, or VoIP desk phone. This upgrade keeps your whole team connected on one easy-to-manage phone system. VoIP means your team can stay mobile, and flexible!
- Wide-Format Printers Wide-format printers are used for printing material that is at least 18-inches wide. However, they can print on virtually any size stock. If you regularly outsource large format, you’re missing out on the benefits of bringing your print in-house with a large format device.
- Managed IT Services (MIT) An MIT provider specializes in managing a segment of a company’s IT department. MIT protects sensitive data, and security threats to your network, freeing your team to focus on core responsibilities.
- TouchScreen Whiteboards These interactive tools help your team to collaborate more effectively. Dispersed teams can have immediate access to each other, share visual content, mark it up, and clearly communicate ideas in real-time!
